Much of Ireland's sporting schedule going into the weekend has fallen foul of the bad weather and flooding which has caused havoc in many parts of the country.
All of tonight's eircom League Premier League matches were postponed due to waterlogged pitches. Matches affected were; Shelbourne versus Derry City, St Pat's versus UCD, Bray Wanderers versus Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United versus Bohemians.
In the First Division Athlone Town had to wait for a late pitch inspection ahead of their match with Waterford United, but the game will go ahead.
In Gaelic Games, all Leinster Senior League matches had to be called off, with the exception of intermediate cup games, as much of the province attempts to recover from flash flooding.
The Dublin County Football Final between UCD and St Vincent's was due to take place tomorrow but it has been rescheduled and will now be played at Parnell Park on Sunday. The throw-in is at 2 p.m.
As a result, the Leinster Club Football Championship clash between the Dublin champions and Rathnew of Wicklow has been provisionally postponed for a week.
Elsewhere, pitch inspections will be held in Portlaoise (Club H.C. Birr v St. Mullins), Wexford (Club H.C. Young Irelands v Rathnure) and Carlow (Club F.C. Rathvilly v Dunshaughlin) at noon tomorrow to decide if Sunday's fixtures can go ahead.
Sunday's All Ireland Intermediate Championship Camogie Final between Antrim and Cork scheduled for Glenalbyn is also postponed.
Racing has also been affected with tomorrow's meeting at Punchestown being cancelled, following an inspection this morning which found the course to be waterlogged.
Tonight's greyhound racing at Harold's Cross was also cancelled where the semi-finals of the Vodaphone Grand Prix 575 was due to be held.
