Apart from a few isolated wintry showers motorists are warned that a widespread and severe ground frost will develop overnight. Those going out on the town are advised to wrap up as temperatures will fall to between 0 and - 4 Celsius.

The mild weather arrives in time for the Irish Rugby team to make up for the disappointing recent display against England. Tomorrow’s game at Landsdowne road against Scotland kicks off at 4 p.m.

AARoadwatch are advising that from 8 a.m. until after the match, parking will be prohibited on either side of Lansdowne Road and from the Shelbourne Road to Herbert Bridge, on both sides of Lansdowne Lane and Havelock Square. Lansdowne Road, Shelbourne Road, Newbridge Avenue and Herbert Road will be closed from 1.30 p.m. until after the match.

Saturday will be generally cloudier, and a little milder, with scattered patches of rain and drizzle, according to Met Éireann.

Sunday looks set to continue mostly dry with the fog and frost clearing to give some pleasant sunny breaks, though it will still be cool.

Much of Monday should hold dry and bright too but cloud will increase later in the day with a spell of rain expected on Monday evening or night.

All Stena Line and Irish Ferries weekend sailings are expected to run to schedule. Passengers booked on sailings out of Dún Laoghaire should allow extra time due to roadworks in the area.

There are no delays to trains on intercity, suburban and DART services are running on time. And there are no delays expected on flights to and from Dublin, Cork and Shannon.
