Met Éireann has predicted a cold and wet day throughout the country tomorrow, with temperatures ranging from five to a maximum of ten degrees in the South. Munster and Leinster are expected to get the heaviest rain fall.
By Sunday, and into Monday, the skies should begin to clear and it will be mainly dry and bright nationwide, but will remain cold.
Meanwhile Iarnród Éireann has announced changes to its travel service for the festive weekend. DART services in Dublin will work on the Sunday timetable on Saturday 17th, Sunday 18th and Monday 19th March.
In addition, suburban services to Kildare, Arklow and Maynooth will be cancelled over the weekend, the Drogheda service will operate to a Sunday schedule and the Dublin/Belfast Enterprise service will operate as normal on Saturday and Monday.

Bus Éireann will operate on the Sunday schedule from Saturday 17th to Monday 19th with the exception of the Belfast, Letterkenny, Monaghan, Derry and Portrush routes which will work from the weekday timetable on St Patrick’s day.

In the absence of Dublin’s major parade this year, St Patrick’s day celebrations will, by and large, take cover from the elements and move indoors.
MTV’s Trevor Nelson will host the Lick Party at Dublin's Temple Theatre at 10 p.m tonight and the PoD will host an MTV dance party on Saturday March 17th at 9 p.m.
In Galway, St Patrick will be remembered with International Sean Nós singing at the Town Hall, tonight at 9 p.m., and Belfast will have cavalcades of floats and music throughout the city from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. tomorrow.
