American newspapers have won all the prizes at the annual EPpy Internet awards in Atlanta, Georgia. The Washington Post was voted the best US online newspaper while the prize for the best non-US paper went to La Nacion of Argentina.
The Irish Times came second in the best special section in an online newspaper category. The winner was the San Jose Mercury-News for its section on the Microsoft anti-trust trial. Joint runners-up were The Irish Times for its section on the Northern Ireland peace process and the Washington Post for an investigation into the results of "Operation Desert Storm".
