Most roadworks have been suspended for the Christmas and New Year holiday period but traffic restrictions and diversions continue to operate in many areas before resuming on Monday next.
In Dublin a one-way system is in place on Church Road, Killiney, for southbound traffic for major reconstruction works. Northbound traffic is diverted via Churchview Road. There is also single-lane traffic at the Rochestown Avenue round about.
A one-way system remains at Leopardstown Road. Traffic flow is westbound only from White's Cross to Brewery Road roundabout. Eastbound traffic should divert via Brewery Road and the N11.
Due to works on the Median M50 to Lucan interchange, the bus lane is closed eastbound at St Loman's and a contra-flow is in place at Fontill.
To facilitate construction of the Saggart-Rathcoole interchange, a section of Main Street, Rathcoole, east of Beechwood Lawns to the Naas Road is closed.
Delays may result from works begun in Leixlip village, and single-lane traffic between Leixlip and Maynooth.
Roadworks are in place on the NI some five miles south of Balbriggan.
In Munster roadworks are in place on the N8 between Cahir and Mitchelstown with temporary traffic lights. Major roadworks have been in progress on the Clonmel inner relief road with temporary lights on the Powerstown section of the N24.
There may be delays due to watermain works on the Limerick-Foynes road at Askeaton.
With many visitors due to return home this week, particularly to Britain, and the cancellation of many services because of severe weather earlier this week, ferries expect to be very busy over the weekend.
