To the north of Dublin, work on the Balbriggan by-pass is causing obstruction to eastbound traffic at the five-roads junction south of Balbriggan. Traffic should divert via Brewery Road and the N11. In Balbriggan Gormanstown Road is closed. Alternative routes are Toberstown Road, Flemington Road and Bridgefoot Road.
Two new toll lanes on the Westlink toll bridge are greatly improving traffic flow to the west of the city.
The overtaking lane on the Naas road out of Dublin is closed for the next two weeks from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for the erection of a safety barrier.
The M50 sliplane is now open from the motorway to the Tallaght by-pass at Balrothery roundabout.
Also to the south of the city, construction of the Saggart/Rathcoole interchange means part of Rathcoole's main street, east of Beechwood Lawns to the Naas Road, is closed for about a year.
In Dublin, major road reconstruction has started on Ratoath Road between the Canal Bridge and Ballyboggan Road, and this will continue into next week. Northbound traffic on Ratoath Road is being diverted at the Fassaugh Avenue roundabout. Southbound traffic is not affected.
Strand Road in Dublin 4, between Merrion Gates and Newgrove Avenue, is expected to be closed at weekends until the end of November. Traffic diversions are in place.
The Athlone by-pass continues to be restricted to single-lane traffic on the eastbound carriageway with no markings on the road. Extreme care by motorists is advised.
Resurfacing work on the N81 just north of Blessington, with temporary traffic lights and singlelane traffic, will continue for at least another week.
The Limerick/Tulla road remains closed between Sixmilebridge and Cratloe Cross with diversions via Hurlers Cross and Bunratty. Also in Limerick, water-mains works will cause delays on the Limerick-Foynes road at Askeaton, while a road-widening operation is taking place at Hasset's Cross.
