Due to the continuing industrial dispute involving Ryanair baggage handlers, Aer Rianta has suggested that intending passengers check with Ryanair before leaving for the airport.
Otherwise, this is a relatively quiet time for air travel generally, which means that no delays or changes to published schedules are expected at any Irish airports over the weekend.
The only problem Iarnrod Eireann is expecting is on the Dublin-Sligo line, where engineering work on Sunday will affect the morning 8.35 from Sligo to Connolly, the 8.40 from Connolly to Sligo and the 13.30 from Connolly to Sligo. All passengers will face bus transfers for part of the journey.
Bus Eireann has no special services this weekend and expects that buses will run in accordance with the schedule.
AA Roadwatch has advised that single-lane traffic and diversions are in place at interchanges on the Athlone bypass for eastbound traffic. Extreme care is advised due to the absence of road markings.
In Dublin, AA Roadwatch has reported continued delays in the Dundrum/Rathfarnham area on Ballinteer Avenue and Grange Road for the next three weeks due to gas works, while road repairs on Kilmacud Road Upper will cause disruption for the next week.
On the Bray Road, at Loughlinstown, there will be single-lane traffic at off-peak times on the inbound carriageway for the next week.
Richmond Road South in Milltown will be closed for six months due to drainage works. There will be local access only.
In Limerick, there are roadworks on the Limerick to Foynes Road, with temporary traffic lights at Askeaton. Single-lane traffic will be in operation between Leixlip and Maynooth.
In Waterford, the Dunmore Road is closed to inbound traffic at the People's Park with diversions in place via Park Road, Water Street and Catherine Street.
In Co Westmeath, pipe-laying is taking place on the N52 between Mullingar and Kilbeggan. Three sets of temporary lights will be in place and traffic will be diverted at Rochfordbridge. The works will take place each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., so expect delays.
Passengers travelling on the high-speed HSS Stena Explorer between Dun Laoghaire and Holyhead can expect some delays due to technical problems. The Explorer is to be replaced temporarily by the Lynx, a smaller high-speed vessel on Monday, while it is serviced.
