Dublin: Roadworks are taking place on the Ballymun Road north of the M50 and there will be single lane traffic at times. Some drivers use this route as a short cut from the M50 to the airport, but it should be avoided as long delays are expected over the next five weeks.
A new traffic layout is in place on the Naas dual carriageway outbound between Aermotive and the Poitin Stil public house. Traffic is reduced to a single lane and long delays are inevitable. Meanwhile, a new third lane has opened on the Naas Road going outbound between Newlands Cross and Saggart.
On the main road into the Phoenix Park a new roundabout is being constructed at the turn-off for the zoo, causing delays back to Conyngham Road.
In connection with the new Quarry Vale Centre and road improvements, a 40 m.p.h. speed limit is in place between Newcastle Road and the M50 interchange. All westbound traffic on the Lucan bypass is subject to a contra-flow system between the Deadman's Inn junction and the Fonthill junction until Christmas.
Limerick: Water main works are taking place on the Limerick to Foynes road at Askeaton, so delays are expected. Sexton Street North has a diversion in place for eastbound traffic coming from Shannon, Galway, Parteen and Shelbourne Road going towards the city centre, Dublin or Tipperary.
Cork: Roadworks are in place at Rochestown on the southern carriageway of the South Ring Road/Carrigaline Road. Singlelane traffic will facilitate the construction of the Bloomfield Interchange junction.
Laois: Roadworks on the N8 Dublin/Cork Road at Patrick Street in Durrow. Temporary lights will be in place and delays can be expected.
Westmeath/Roscommon: There will be single-lane traffic on the eastbound carriageway of the Athlone bypass with temporary diversions at interchanges for the next six months. Extreme care is required as there are no road markings. Lane restrictions and diversions will be in place on the Athlone bypass for the next two to three weeks. Tipperary: There are roadworks on the N8 at the Turnpike junction at the turn-off for Thurles. There are also major works on the Clonmel Inner Relief Road, with temporary lights on the Powerstown section of the N24.
