In Dublin, as part of the Malahide quality bus corridor, there will be construction work on the North Strand Road, the junction of Malahide Road and Fairview Strand, Artane roundabout, and a temporary road closure until the end of August on St Brigid's Road from St Brendan's Avenue to Artane roundabout.
A new traffic layout has been introduced on Milltown Road at the Nine Arches for work on realignment. Drivers need to approach the area with caution.
A one-way system is in place on Church Road, Killiney, for southbound traffic for major road reconstruction. North-bound traffic is being diverted via Churchview Road.
A section of South Main Street in Cork will be closed between its junctions with Liberty Street and Washington Street. Diversions will be in place.
Roadworks on the Bishopstown Road, between the regional hospital and the Bishopstown pub, are expected to cause delays. Motorists are advised to use the South Link Road or Model Farm Road.
The road between Lombardstown and Gortoe in Mallow, Co Cork, is closed due to a bridge collapse.
There are roadworks on the Mallow/Killarney Road (N27) at the turn-off for Lombardstown.
In Galway, there are major roadworks on the Ballymoneen Road adjacent to the proposed junction with the western distributor road at Gort Rua housing estate. There will be single-lane traffic and delays are likely. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
From Sallymount to Daly's Cross, Limerick, there will be roadworks on the N7 (LimerickDublin Road) for the next eight months, with single file traffic.
In Kildare, Shaw Bridge, Kilcock, is closed to heavy commercial vehicles until the end of August. An alternative route via Maynooth/Barberstown Cross should be used for those intending to travel from or via Kilcock to Clane/Naas.
The Kenstown/Navan Road (R153) in Co Meath, is closed to traffic for the next six months from its junction with the Boyne Road, Navan, to its junction with Casey's Cross.
In Co Leitrim, there are realignment works on the N16 Sligo to Enniskillen Road about four miles west of Manorhamilton until the end of the year. Speed restrictions are in operation and flagmen will be used.
Traffic on the N4 Dublin-Sligo Road in Co Roscommon is diverted to the new road over the Curlew Mountains.
On the railways, a major refurbishment of Connolly Station, Dublin, is under way until mid1999. The ramp access and exits beside the Financial Services Centre are closed, as is the escalator entrance, steps and exit opposite Talbot Street.
A temporary pedestrian entrance and exit has been erected at Sheriff Street Bridge. Access for motorists and Fastrack parcels service is by Commons Street and via Seville Place and Oriel Street.
