Dublin

From yesterday a new layout of roadworks at the M50/Firhouse junction will affect southbound traffic.

Kellystown Road, Rathfarnam, will be closed for several months to facilitate the construction of a new motorway bridge. Motorists are advised to take an alternative route along the Ticknock Road and Harold's Grange Road.

Bord Gais will be carrying out work on the Emmet Road, between Tyrconnell Road and Tyrconnell Avenue, until August 10th.

York Street between Mercer Street and St Stephen's Green West will be closed until July 15th for road reconstruction works.

Major cabling works are underway on Stradbrook Road, Blackrock, every weekday after 7 p.m. Severe delays can be expected on the Blackrock bypass and southbound drivers should use the Stillorgan Road.

Clonliffe Avenue is closed until later this month.

Stocking Lane in Rathfarnam will be closed at the interface with the proposed route of the Southern Cross Motorway. An alternative route is advised via the Edmonstown Road and Mount Venus Road.

A section of Blanchardstown Road North will be closed from its junction with Ballycoolin crossroads until August 15th.

Work will be carried out on Dorset Street Lower and the North Circular Road.

Irvine Terrace will be closed between Church Street East and Abercorn Road until August 30th.

Westmeath

The new N4/N6 Link Road is open in Kinnegad. This will ease traffic heading to and from the west on the N6.

Laois

Resurfacing will continue in Abbeyleix until the end of November. There are delays of up to 45 minutes on weekdays.

Louth

There is also ongoing work on the N2 north of Ardee.

Kildare

Roadworks on Kilcullen Main Street will continue until mid-July.

Cork

The new Lee Tunnel is open to traffic, completing Cork's ring road. Robert Street is closed for three weeks to facilitate sewer pipe laying on St Patrick's Street. Bord Gais works are continuing on the South Mall.

Bridge construction work is continuing on Lancaster Quay. Traffic and parking are not allowed on the right-hand side between the junctions with Little Hanover Street and Woods Street.

Bachelor's Quay will be closed between Devonshire West and Henry Street until mid-August. No parking is permitted on Morrison's Quay from Trinity Bridge as far as the junction with Catherine Street due to building work at the College of Commerce.

Wexford

Roadworks are causing major disruption to traffic on the N25 between Carrigbyrne and Ballinaboola.

Limerick

Roadworks will continue for three weeks on the N69 from the Askeaton bypass to Kilcornan. Traffic delays may be expected.

Offaly

Temporary traffic lights are in operation on the N7 at Dunkerrin on the Cork side of Roscrea for the next seven weeks.

Leitrim

Speed restrictions are in place on the N16 Sligo/Enniskillen Road about four miles west of Manorhamilton due to realignment work. There are major roadworks on the N4, south of Carrick-on-Shannon.

Derry

Roadworks will continue until July 12th on the A2 Strand Road at Meadowbank.

Donegal

Temporary traffic lights are in place on the N15 just north of Donegal town and roadworks on the Sligo side of the town continue.

Down

Bridge reconstruction work on the Ballyhinch Road in Lisburn under the Motorway bridge is ongoing.

Belfast

Bus lane contra-flow works continue in the Corporation Street area. Diversions continue until the end of the year on Ribble Street, from Newtownards to Tamar Street, due to building work.

Refurbishment work at Connolly Station continues.

Dublin to Sligo rail services from Monday morning to Friday afternoon are subject to change due to work on the railway.

At Dublin Airport, passenger volumes are expected to exceed 169,000 this weekend. Some congestion is likely on airport roads.

Road Deaths

Some 190 people have been killed in road accidents so far this year. Four people have died in road accidents since Sunday.
