Garda checkpoints are in operation at Border cross ings to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
A special protection zone around a farm in south Armagh has been extended around the farm near Jenkinstown in Co Louth. Additional checkpoints will be in operation in north Co Louth, from the N53 to Ballymascanlon roundabout to the Cooley Mountains.

Dublin
Hillcrest Road is closed between Leopardstown Road and Blackglen Road until Sunday for repairs. Alternatives routes via Sandyford Road, Blackthorn Drive, Blackthorn Avenue and Leopardstown Road.
Firhouse Road is closed to through traffic until Monday, with local access only. From Tallaght, vehicles should take the Tallaght Bypass or take the new link road to Ballycullen to the Scholarstown Interchange.
From Templeogue, vehicles should divert via the Knocklyon Road and Schol ars town Interchange. The new Firhouse bridge opens on March 26th.
A new Quality Bus Corridor is open on the north Clondalkin route with extra peak-time services from city to Liffey Valley. A new QBC on the Rathfarnham route to the city runs via Harold's Cross. Luas roadworks and diversions at weekends on Wolfe Tone Quay around Heuston Bridge until March 31st. Lane restrictions this weekend on Howth Road near Fairview, as the railway bridge is being painted.
Cork
Inchigaggin Lane will be closed to all traffic from Model Farm Road to Carrig rohane Road from 8 a.m next Monday to 6 p.m on Saturday, March 31st. Alternative routes are via Church Hill, Poulavone Roundabout or Victoria Cross. The Marina will be closed to traffic until August for main drainage works. Drawbridge Street is closed. Bachelor's Quay is closed between Devonshire Street West and Grattan Street until May.

Galway
Major traffic disruption until May on Upper Salthill and Seapoint Promenade beside the Atlantiquarium for Knocknacarragh main drainage works.
