Trains services to the West will operate as normal tomorrow after a group of six train drivers at Westport station called off a planned work stoppage.
The unofficial industrial action has been suspended with a view to facilitating further talks between the drivers and Iarnród Eireann.
The group staged one-day work stoppages on the last two Fridays, affecting the travel plans of 2,000 passengers each day.
The six drivers in Westport are in dispute with Iarnród Éireann over a €100 a week pay rise. They also claim that the company owes them €11,000 in back pay under the a nationally agreed roster.
The company is refusing to make payments without changes to the roster for drivers based in Westport. These drivers work a 28-hour week compared with the 48-hour average week worked by all other drivers, the company says.
No date has been yet set for the talks.
