A search continued yesterday off the coast of Wexford for a man missing since Sunday evening.
Ron O'Connor, who lives near the fishing port of Kilmore Quay, was reported missing in the early hours of Monday morning having failed to return following a fishing expedition on Sunday night.
Mr O'Connor, who is in his 40s, had gone out in a boat with his brother on Sunday evening. When his brother decided to go home later that evening Mr O'Connor went back out to sea to continue fishing.
However, he failed to return to shore that night and a search of the local coastline was carried out after the alarm was raised.
The search - which continued throughout yesterday - involved the local coastguard in addition to local people and members of the lifeboat and the emergency services.
One of nine brothers and four sisters Mr O'Connor - who is the second youngest in the family - recently returned from England where he had been residing for some time.
Mr O'Connor's boat was located a few hundred yards from the shoreline by the local lifeboat.
The search will continue today.
