American sprinter Kelli White will be allowed to compete in Friday night's Golden League meeting in Brussels despite positive for the minor stimulant modanifil after her 100 metres victory at the World Championships.
The IAAF has said that the world governing body for track and field will release more details later on today regarding the athlete's status.
Modanifil was not on the IAAF banned list of substances for athletes at the championships, but the governing body classified it as "related substances."
The 26-year-old has been waiting to discover if she will be banned for the positive test, and if she is going to be allowed to keep the 100 and 200 metres gold medals she won in Paris.
White says she is a narcoleptic and is prescribed the drug for the sleep disorder.
