Manufacturing prices fell by 0.6 per cent in February, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
This compares to an increase of 0.7 per cent recorded for February of last year and meant the annual percentage change showed a decrease of 1.6 per cent in February.
In the month the most significant changes were decreases in basic chemicals, which fell by 1 per cent, and office machinery/computers which fell by 2.5 per cent, while there was an increase in pharmaceuticals and other chemical products, which rose by 2 per cent.
Contributing to the annual change was a decrease in office machinery and computers, which fell 11.2 per cent.
