Wholesale prices increased by 0.6 per cent in June, compared to an increase of 1.6 per cent for the same period last year, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office.
The CSO said the annual percentage change showed a decrease of 0.4 per cent in June, compared to an increase of 0.6 per cent in May.
In June, the index for export sales increased by 0.5 per cent while the index for home sales increased by 0.2 per cent. In the year there was a decrease in export sales of 1 per cent and an increase in home sales of 2 per cent.
The most significant changes in June were increases in basic chemicals which rose 0.9 per cent and office machinery and computers, up 0.8 per cent, while mining and quarrying fell 4.4 per cent.
The price of energy products increased by 9.7 per cent in the year since June 2005, while petroleum fuels increased by 17 per cent.
In June 2006, there was a monthly decrease in energy products of 0.1 per cent, while petroleum fuels decreased by 0.4 per cent.
