Wholesale prices rose by 0.7 per cent in the year to September, the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows.
The price of energy products increased by 14.4 per cent in the year, and petroleum fuels rose by 23.3 per cent.
However, there was a monthly decrease in the price of energy products in September of 0.3 per cent, and 1 per cent fall in the price of petroleum fuels reflecting the falling price of oil on international markets.
In September, the price index for export sales increased by 1.5 per cent while the index for home sales decreased by 0.7 per cent.

In the building and construction sector, prices increased by 4.5 per cent in the year since September 2007.
