Gardaí investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body in a woods in Co Wicklow believe the victim may have been a Lithuanian man.
The body was found lying face down in a stream in the Glen o' the Downs on Tuesday night by a man walking his dog.
Gardaí yesterday withheld the results of a post-mortem on the body of the man. But a spokeswoman said today that the dead man may have been a Lithuanian who has not been in the country for long.
"That is our main theory at the moment", the spokesman said. He added that it may be a number of days before the man is formally identified from dental records.
Detectives are meeting the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, this morning and further information on the cause of death is expected to be released later.
