A widow from Laois who is contesting the contents of her late husbands estate will have her case heard in the circuit court it emerged today.

Sandra Murphy of Dr Murphy Park, Portlaoise, claims she has been denied a share of her husband's estate by his family which includes a home worth up to €400,000.

Earlier this month Ms Murphy was granted interim injuctions restraining her father-in-law Tony Madigan snr and Patrick Madigan from interfering with the assets of her late husband, Tony Madigan jnr.

During the trial she told the court she had "felt obliged" to quit her home because of intimidation and harassment by her late husband's family.

Today her lawyer, Eanna Mulloy SC, applied in the High Court today to have the case moved to the Midland Circuit Court in Portlaoise in a bid to have the matter resolved quicker and at less cost.

Mr Justice Daniel Herbert agreed to the application.

Ms Murphy met her late husband in October 2000, and they became engaged in June 2001 before they married on May 2nd, 2003.

They lived in Ballyroan House, Main Street, Ballyroan, Portlaoise, which had become their family home, although registered in the sole name of her husband.

The case will be added to the county court list and is expected to be heard in October, a full hearing is likely to come before the court after Christmas.
