Bookmaker William Hill is expecting its annual profit to exceed previous forecasts.

The company issued a profit warning in November but said this morning it was expecting a profit of more than the forecast of £230 million to £240 million - before tax, interest and exceptional items.

"In addition, the football World Cup is likely to provide additional revenue and customer acquisition opportunities."
