Johannesburg - South Africa's former first lady Winnie Mandela has said she is willing to stand trial again for the assault and kidnapping of teenage activist Stompie Seipei, a newspaper has reported.
Mr Katiza Cebekhulu, a member of her bodyguard entourage who vanished on the eve of her 1991 trial for the assault and kidnapping, said in a book and documentary released last week that he saw her stab the boy to death.
"I have called on Cebekhulu to come forward and stand trial. If this means a retrial, I will be very happy," President Nelson Mandela's former wife was quoted in the Sunday In- dependent.
Ms Mandela was found guilty in 1991 of kidnapping and assaulting Seipei. The assault conviction was set aside on appeal and she was fined for the kidnapping.
