Various witnesses gave evidence of seeing murder accused Mr Joe O'Reilly on the day his murder wife was murdered. At 6.40 am, Alison Grimes saw Mr O'Reilly and Derek Quaerney enter Jackie Skelly's Gym in Parkwest.

Later that morning, a number of Mr O'Reilly's workmates saw him in the Viacom offices in Bluebell. At 7.45am Gary Curtis arrived at work and had a work-related conversation with Mr O'Reilly.

However, when he left at 8.45 or 9am, he said he 'couldn't be certain whether Joe O'Reilly was still there'. Gary Neary said that when he arrived in work at 8.30, he also saw Derek Quaerney and the accused who was wearing a black zip-up jacket.

He said that when he left at 8.45 or 8.50am, "Joe was gone before me."

Laurence Smith said he met the accused between midday and 12.30 on the stairs and that he was wearing a pink coloured shirt. Tracey O'Neill, who works as an operational assistant at the company, said Mr O'Reilly and Mr Quaerney would sometimes go in the same car to inspect posters and sometimes they would carry out these inspections separately.

Noel Padget, who puts posters up in buses said after he arrived into work between 8.20 and 8.30am, Mr Quaerney sent him to Broadstone Phibsborough bus garage. He said he didn't see the accused in the garage at all that day.

Bus Eireann risk manager Eoin Glavey said that when he returned to the garage at around 11.30, he saw a fairly large man with short hair, dark suit and a high visibility shirt. However, he said that when he was shown a sheet with 12 photographs on it on April 1st 2005, he didn't recognise anyone.

Thomas de Vere who works for Dublin Bus said it would be unusual for people from the advertising company to put up posters between 7.30am and 10.30 as there are no buses left at that stage.

Mr O'Reilly (35) of Lambay View, Baldarragh, The Naul, Co Dublin has pleaded not guilty to murdering Rachel O'Reilly, his 30 year-old wife and mother of their two children at the family home on October 4th 2004.

The trial before Mr Justice Barry White and a jury of two women and nine men continues tomorrow.
