A woman (52) has been arrested in connection with the suspicious death of Lillian Scanlon (48) in Athlone, Co Westmeath in May.
Detectives believe that Ms Scanlon was involved in a row at her home at Valley Court, Athlone, around the time of her death in the early hours of Friday May 10th.
She was discovered dead on the kitchen floor of the house at 10am by a woman who had stayed in the house overnight.
Gardaí believe the victim, a house guest, and at least two other people were drinking in the house the night before her body was discovered, and a row broke out.
A woman was arrested in Athlone at 8.15am this morning in connection with the death of Ms Scanlon.
She is currently being detained at Athlone Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
