A woman was charged today in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Kilcock man yesterday.
Ms Nicola Brereton, (40), was charged at a special sitting of Navan District Court this afternoon under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 and under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act 1990.
The 52-year-old victim, Mr John Smullen from Carberry, Co Kildare, was stabbed at a flat on Church Street, Kilcock at 1.10 a.m. on Friday.
Ms Brereton was remanded in custody with consent to bail and will appear in Dunshaughlin District Court on Tuesday at 10.30 a.m.
