A 52-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a Catholic man in Armagh in 1998.

A 52-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a Catholic man in Armagh in 1998.

Ms Muriel Gibson of Trevithick Camborne in Cornwall appeared at Craigavon Magistrates' Court todaycharged with murdering Adrian Lamph in Portadown.

Mr Lamph (29), a council worker from the Garvaghy Road, was shot dead at a Craigavon Borough Council depot in Portadown in April 1998.

Ms Gibson was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Her daughter Rain Landry, of the same address, wascharged with causing an explosion likely to endanger life and damage property.

Shewas also accused of carrying out an arson attack on a butcher's shop with intent to endanger life.

They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The accused were part of a trio of women detained by Norfolk Police detectives investigating the murder of human rights lawyer Rosemary Nelson.

No charges were levelled in relation to Mrs Nelson's death in a loyalist car bomb in March 1999.
