A woman in her 70s was killed yesterday when she fell from a third floor window of St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. A spokesman for the hospital said the woman, who had been admitted the previous day, was attempting to open a window while in a state of apparent confusion. The circumstances surrounding the accident will be the subject of a coroner's inquest, the spokesman added.
The hospital is expected to conduct a study into the design of its windows. A Garda spokesman said the incident happened at about 8.30 a.m. and an investigation would be carried from Donnybrook station.
