A woman has received hospital treatment for minor injuries after shots were fired outside a pub in Finglas, Dublin, early yesterday.
Shotgun pellets were fired from a Rover car which pulled up outside the Finglas Castle pub on St Margaret's Road at around 2.40 a.m. The woman was brought to the Mater Hospital for treatment and discharged herself hours later. Detectives investigating the incident believe they have identified a group of youths involved. They are also confident that the woman was an innocent victim of the attack and that the target was either the doormen or others leaving the pub disco.
The young men were seen travelling in the Finglas area in the Rover car over the last number of days. They were also seen in the vicinity of the pub last Sunday night. The car was found abandoned yesterday and was technically examined in Santry Garda station.
