A gang of men and women who attacked and stabbed a woman in Derry was tonight being hunted by police.
The woman was walking alone in Irish Street at about 1am when she was set upon by a group of two women and four men. knocked to the ground and kicked.
She was also stabbed in both thighs, possibly with a screwdriver, and in the hand. The victim believes the motive for the attack was sectarian, said a police spokesman.
The woman's injuries were not understood to be serious. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact police at Waterside.
