Buenos Aires - A woman swam 12 miles to the Argentine coastal town of San Clemente del Tuyu after her yacht was blown onto a sandbar and began to sink, news reports said yesterday.
Ms Marcela Silvia Larrain (55) radioed the Argentine coast guard on Thursday night that a storm had blown her 22 ft six-metre boat on a sandbar off the coast of Buenos Aires province. But her radio stopped working before she could transmit her co-ordinates and she decided to swim to shore as her sailboat started to sink.
