Algiers - About 2,000 women took to the streets in the Algerian capital yesterday urging the government to improve women's rights.
"Zeroual! That's enough. We want our rights as citizens," the marchers shouted, citing the name of President Liamine Zeroual.
Many of them waved signs asking the government to change laws that feminists say keep Algerian women in perpetual subordination to men.
