Boston - A lawyer for the British au pair, Louise Woodward, who allegedly said she doubted her client's innocence in the Massachusetts child killing case, has been dismissed.
The attorneys for Woodward, Mr Harvey Silverglate, Mr Andrew Good and Mr Barry Scheck, said yesterday in a statement that the lawyer Ms Elaine Whitfield Sharp had been fired.
"Unfortunately, Ms Sharp has at times exhibited an aberrant pattern of behaviour, as at the time of her arrest," the statement said, referring to her May 22nd arrest on drunk driving charges.
A Massachusetts state trooper in his arrest report said Ms Whitfield Sharp blurted out that she believed her famous client to now be guilty of killing nine-month-old Matthew Eappen. Earlier yesterday the trooper demanded an apology from the lawyer for saying he had lied in his police report. Sgt Randy Cipoletta, said he might take legal action if she did not apologise to him for saying the statements attributed to her were untrue and that he had made sexual advances to her.
