Ian Woosnam's caddy Miles Byrne has failed to turn up in time for the final round of the Scandinavian Masters today.
The incident comes just two weeks after Byrne inadvertently left a 15th-club in Woosnam's bag during the final round of the British Open at Royal Lytham.
The mistake cost Woosnam a two-shot penalty, the chance of his first British Open title, $300,000, and a certain Ryder Cup place, though Byrne kept his job.
This time however, the Irish bagman does face the sack.
"That's it. You know what the circumstances are going to be this time," said a furious Woosnam, before confronting Byrne in the clubhouse, following a final round 69 at Barseback.
Woosnam, who had a 07:15 tee-time for the final round, had to break into his clubhouse locker to get his shoes.
Caddy-master Tommy Strand volunteered to carry the 43-year-old Welshman's bag for the final round.
When Woosnam strode off the 18th, after shooting his best round of the week, he found a contrite Byrne waiting in the clubhouse. Only four or five sharp words were spoken by the player before he headed to the airport.
Byrne's brother Dermot, who is on Scot Stephen Gallacher's bag, said his brother was neither ill nor injured but would not reveal why his brother did not make his tee-off time.
Byrne also declined to comment on why he was late.
However he was not the only caddy in trouble on Sunday morning.
South African Desvonde Botes arrived to find his clubs had been stolen after his caddy left the bag on the verandah of the clubhouse on Saturday night.
Botes had to borrow Briton David Park's clubs. Park had missed the cut but stayed on to practice.
