Celtic hero David Marshall insisted last night that he will not be living off his incredible match-winning performance in the Nou Camp.
The 19-year-old rookie, who only started his first game for the club earlier this month, pulled off a string of magnificent saves to frustrate Barcelona and set-up a UEFA Cup quarter-final tie against Spanish rivals Villarreal.
He only played because number one choice Robert Douglas failed to have his suspension overruled but he contributed to one of the club's greatest feats.
"This is the best night of my career so far but I am not going to live off this game," enthused Marshall. "I want to go on from here. You usually don't know the team until an hour before kick-off anyway so I just prepared and trained the way I normally do and it was no surprise that Rab did not win his appeal.
"I don't think this has hit me yet. When you are on the pitch it is a lot different to watching it from the dug out. Rab congratulated me but we obviously still have a job to do and we will go back to training tomorrow and see what happens," he said.
"I remember the saves. In the first 20 minutes I made a few saves but that's just the way it goes. They are all important at different times. The ones in the first half I would be expected to make but the ones in the second were a lot more difficult."
