Russian oil firm Yukos asked a US bankruptcy judge to block the impending auction of its main production unit.
"We are here to stop 60 per cent of our body from being cut off on Sunday," Mr Zack Clement, a lawyer for Yukos , told US Bankruptcy Judge Letitia Clark in an emergency hearing on today. Yukos ' filing, the government claims $27.5 billion in disputed tax debt. The auction is scheduled for Sunday.
