Harare - Thirty white farmers fled their homes in northern Zimbabwe yesterday after talks with the government yielded no sign of an end to the wave of violence that has hit the region all week.
"The whole thing is orchestrated for maximum discomfort for us, and I don't know how long it will continue," said David Rockingham-Gill, of the Commercial Farmers' Union (CFU).
"But the whole idea is to get the farmers to react into conflict and put another 50 farmers away, and we're not doing that."
