Zoo reopens after nine-week closure

Dublin Zoo reopened today after being closed for more than nine weeks.

Dublin Zoo reopened today after being closed for more than nine weeks.

The zoo was closed at the end of February as part of measures taken against foot-and-mouth disease.

A zoo spokesperson said although losses were substantial, they were lucky it was closed out of season.

All areas of the zoo will reopen today except pets' corner and city farm as both these areas encourage contact with the animals. It is not known when they will reopen.
