An article in the Magazine of July 30th last, concerning a proposed restaurant in Dublin, stated that Elaine Murphy was in discussions which may lead to the restaurant being named after the late Hector Grey.
No such discussions have taken place. In fact, Ms Murphy had not intended that information on a possible Hector Grey name would be published when it was. The article also mistakenly stated that Ali Hewson is the grand-daughter of Hector Grey.
An article in last Monday’s edition, concerning a service set up to help air travellers claim refunds, said that “although passengers are entitled to have (the charges) refunded, in practice this seldom happens”. Ryanair has pointed out that its passengers (and those of some other airlines) are only entitled to a refund of the Government tax (in Ireland the €10 tourist tax or in the UK the £11 APD).
There is no entitlement to a refund of airport fees or baggage charges or any other element of the air fare and this is agreed by the passenger at the time of booking on Ryanair.com to be non-refundable.
