An editorial in the edition of August 20th, concerning planning in Co Clare commented that a decision had been taken by councillors to rezone an additional 95 acres for housing purposes near Ennis against advice that the land involved should be frozen for development purposes. The councillors have pointed out that an equal amount of land was removed at another location so the overall zoned amount is unchanged. A final decision on the zoning has yet to be made.
An article in last Thursday’s edition, concerning a ruling on a woman’s right to an abortion in Ireland said that it was an EU ruling. In fact, the ruling came from the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
A system malfunction resulted in some misprints in last Thursday’s edition. The Society of St Pius X is known by the acronym SSPX and it is headed by Bishop Fellay. The defeated Democrat candidate in Tuesday’s New York congressional election was David Weprin.
An article in last Thursday’s edition said that Bill Amberg is an American designer. He is British.
