Longford-Westmeath Fine Gael TD James Bannon was incorrectly reported in last Friday's editions as saying that he favoured changing electoral legislation to allow civil servants to join political parties. Mr Bannon has pointed out that he does not advocate an end to Civil Service impartiality.
