A chara, – The careers of newspaper columnists should be humanely and lovingly ended by their editor when they have reached the inevitable point that it is impossible for readers to tell if they are a parody or not. Fintan O’Toole lasted longer than most, but that day has sadly come.
He berates farmers, and more or less everybody, for not doing enough to reduce their emissions (“We are walking through the valley of death”, Weekend, July 23rd).
