Sir, – I note the most Irish of traditions has begun, that of moaning about Ministers travelling to St Patrick’s Day functions across the world (Letters, February 16th).
Personally I’d much rather spend St Patrick’s Day hiking or cycling. I have fond memories of bringing my children to the parade when they were younger.
Spending eight hours travelling to make small talk with random strangers is not my idea of a fun time and the smartest hotel room or minibar are no compensation.
Those who think that business travel is a jolly should really get a life. – Yours, etc,
