Sir, – I wish to thank Donald Clarke for his service to the public in the piece “It’s time for St Patty’s Day and Irish Americans are disgracing themselves again” (Culture, March 4th) for the groundbreaking revelation that people on TikTok make fools of themselves and that social media is not the gold standard of veracity and culture.
Who would have thought that of the same social media service that made a craze out of eating detergent pods?
I am, though, disappointed that your columnist is oblivious to the fact that TikTok buffoons come in all nationalities and colours; he seems to have an acute case of confirmation bias. – Yours, etc,
