Sir, – In her review of Shazam! Fury of the Gods on March 17th, Tara Brady makes reference to another movie, starring the American comedian Sinbad. “Where is Sinbad’s Shazaam when you need him?”
As she is no doubt aware, but many readers may not be, this film – supposedly with Sinbad as the titular genie – does not exist. It was never made and is part of a phenomenon called the “Mandela Effect”. This is a shared false memory that hundreds of people have of an item or event.
The concept is that an alternate universe was subsumed into this universe and a memory of that movie is one of its few lingering remnants.
No reviews exist of the Sinbad film but apparently it was an unforgettable experience. – Yours, etc,
