Sir, – Christy Dignam’s voice was a cherished and refreshing presence in a media landscape that often neglects working-class Dublin experience.
His music, deeply rooted in the streets of our capital, resonated with people throughout our island and further afield, and offered a glimpse into the eternal (“‘We’ve lost a legend, one of a kind’”, News, June 14th).
He was a gifted storyteller, infusing his songs with humour, pathos, and wisdom.
His instantly recognisable voice and timeless songs will be enjoyed by generations to come.
