Sir, – A vast amount of electricity must be used worldwide just ensuring that our clothes are wrinkle free. Think of the staggering technological advances that we see every day in the 21st century and yet we have very few items of clothing that stay smooth and in shape after we give them a wash. I would strongly appeal to eco-warriors of all stripes to give this issue some serious attention.
Perhaps a protest “iron-in” outside the Dáil might be a start.
