Sir, – As someone who has needed the public ambulance service rather more than I would have wished in the last couple of years, may I take the opportunity of the season to say thank you.
The public service, especially the health service, is often under attack and is rarely praised. I have found the ambulance service exemplary in response, vehicles well equipped, officers expert in getting patient to hospital, performing triage on the way so that on arrival at hospital medical staff know the nature of issue and urgency of treatment needed. And all done calmly and with good humour. – Yours, etc,
