Matt Williams: Take a deep breath and see how Sam Prendergast copes with big Fiji test
New Irish citizens: ‘I hear the racist and xenophobic slurs on the streets. Everything is blamed on immigrants’
Crucial election weekend begins amid campaign as bland as an Uncle Colm monologue on Derry Girls
Jack Reynor: ‘We were in two minds between eloping or going the whole hog but we got married in Wicklow with about 220 people’
Sir, – It is clear from the outset that political party manifestos and promises to the electorate mean nothing. Until a government is formed and an agreed programme for government with various parties concluded, no policy can be guaranteed to make it into the programme for government. Politicians can promise the sun, the moon and stars without any consequence. No wonder electorates are so cynical. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Hopefully, with a new government, the price of eggs will come down. – Yours, etc,
