Sir, – Why did the Pensions Board allow a €10 billion hole to develop in private sector pension funds?
I suggest what it is doing now is closing the gate after the horse has bolted. Despite all the regulation (obviously light touch) this hole is getting bigger on an annual basis. It appears the more we put in the less we get out. This is particularly true for people still in employment. Their contributions are being used to fund the present retired, leaving very little or nothing for themselves. Is it not time to stop the rot? – Yours, etc,
