Sir, - I spent an inordinate amount of my spare time this week composing a letter to you about the small-boy-shouts-knickers-at-nuns piece by Terry Eagleton in the Weekend supplement of November 24th.
Then I saw Kathryn Holmquist's ill-natured article of November 27th about another woman's pregnancy (to say nothing of your front-page picture of the woman, Liz Hurley, with its disgraceful caption) and I started composing a letter about that.
In the end I decided I would just write a general letter telling you that I am not buying your paper any more, because I would rather spend my spare time doing something other than composing angry letters in my head.
Don't flatter yourself that you are stimulating debate or anything like that. Those two pieces were clichΘd, spiteful and a complete waste of time. - Yours, etc.,
