A chara, - I thoroughly agree with the sentiments of Sonya Morrissey Murphy when she asks bus not to make a political football of the abortion issue in the run up to an election (letters, March 19th). Is it not important to realise, however, that it is those seeking a further Referendum who are to the forefront in doing precisely this, and not the mainstream political parties?
Let us castigate the lawmakers for their failure to legislate on foot of the amendments. But this failure is surely best remedied by legislating now, not by giving them a new amendment on which they can prevaricate for another 14 years. - Yours, etc.,
